First published in 1970, Crow marked a pivotal moment for Ted Hughes’s poetry. Resulting from an invitation from the American artist Leonard Baskin to make a book with him about crows, Hughes looked to history, the natural world and mythology for his inspiration. The cover pays homage to the original 1970 cover image designed by Baskin.
As with all Collectors’ Editions, Crow has been printed on premium wood-free paper using the traditional lithographic method on a small Heidelberg press. Each book is sewn and bound by hand, using a quarter-bound case of real cloth and printed panels front and back.
