A dowdy nurse, Leah (Josiane Balasko), is in love with her boss (Richard Berry) and sells her soul to the devil's apprentice, Abargadon (Daniel Auteuil), so that her boss will find her attractive. However, the contract is deemed null and void by Gabriel (Michel Lonsdale) as Leah and Abar fall in love.
