Promise Me Not

For as long as I can remember, I've had one dream.

Go to the same college as my friends, become the starting quarterback of a division one team, and hear my name announced to the world come draft day.

The path was clear, and things were falling in place perfectly. And then she came along.

Now I'm in love with a girl . . . whose heart was buried alongside the boy she gave it to. The ghost I can't compete with. The father of her newborn son.

She wants me to walk away, to focus on my love for football, but I can't, because I have a new dream.
