What Is Graphic Design?

Explores the issues that shape design such as: economics, ethics, technology, and developments in other arts. This work looks at how graphic design has evolved over the centuries, from the development of book printing in medieval Germany onwards. It also looks at typography, and how the process of reproduction underpins each aspect of design.
