Delivery by bicycle
We deliver by bicycle on the same day in Bucharest! Because we love the idea of a happier, more airy and less polluted Bucharest. Greener with freshness, redder with joy, bluer with dreams. All in friendly conditions for the environment in Bucharest, for the vibe in Cărturești and the backs of the Sinapseria* couriers:
- Same day delivery for all online orders placed on carturesti.ro daily until 13:30, containing products marked with the "24h" label.
- Bicycle-delivered packages will not exceed the weight of 2 kg.
- Price of bicycle delivery: 19.90 lei.
- Delivery time frame: Monday to Friday until 19:00.
- Next day delivery for all orders placed from 15:00 until midnight, from Monday to Thursday, and containing products marked with the “24h” label.
- Bicycle-delivered packages will not exceed the weight of 2 kg.
- Price of bicycle delivery: 11.90 lei.
- Delivery time frame: Monday to Friday until 19:00.
*Sinapseria is a bicycle courier service. With every delivery they complete, the people on their flying bicycles reduce the level of carbon dioxide that cars emit into traffic. We really appreciate what they do because no effort is too much for living in a cleaner city.

Pickup from a bookshop
From now on, you can choose to pick up your order from any of our bookshops.
To access this service, simply log into your Cărturești account on the website and place an order that only contains products labeled as available for 24-hour delivery. The option for in-bookshop delivery will not be displayed if any of the items do not meet the above-mentioned terms. Also, your order must be a minimum of 10 lei in value.
For this type of order, payment can be made through two methods:
- Online card payment: immediately after completing the order, you will be redirected to the PayU
website.
- Payment at the bookshop when collecting the products.
To select this method, during checkout, at the “Billing details” stage choose the “Pay in bookshop / Pay cash or by card upon parcel pickup.” option. This will not require a cash payment, as you have the possibility to pay using all available methods in our bookshops: card, voucher or cultural/gift card.
Please note that these packages are processed by the central warehouse. Therefore, it will be necessary for the package to be dispatched and received at the selected bookshop. When the package is available for pickup, you will be notified via email and receive a unique 8-character security code, which will allow you to collect the package.
Packages will be held at the bookshop for 5 days. After this period, pre-paid orders will be returned to the central warehouse, and you will be contacted for further details. Unpaid orders will be considered canceled, and the products will be relisted in the bookshop’s inventory.
Returns and exchanges: You can make returns either online through a courier service or
directly in the bookshop based on the invoice or receipt.
For online returns, please register your request with the Customer Relations

For situations when you want to exchange a product, there are solutions we can offer when you contact the same Customer Relations department.
Pickup from Easybox or Fan Courier Locker
While completing your order, you can also choose to pick up your order personally from an easybox or locker.
Payment can be done by card either an online card payment when placing the order or a card payment directly
at the locker when picking up the package. Please note that certain lockers may not have an active POS
terminal. In this case, when placing the order, you will only have the option to pay in advance through an
online card payment.
Delivery to the easybox will be handled by Sameday Courier while delivery to lockers will be handled by Fan
Courier, you just have to follow the steps described to you by the courier company. Should the package not
match the available dimensions at the pickup point you selected, you will be contacted by the couriers for
further instructions. In this case, the delivery method will be updated and you will receive an SMS
notification from the courier company to arrange the extra necessary details.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs will be calculated separately in your cart based on the destination (in Bucharest, within the country, or internationally) and the approximate weight of your package.
If you opt to pick up the products from a Cărturești bookshop of your choice, you can do so for free. Please note that the minimum order value for this option is 10 lei.
For orders with delivery within Romania, using a courier, and with a value exceeding 150 lei, the delivery is free.
Otherwise, the following delivery rates apply for Romania:
- In Bucharest and Ilfov County: 9.5 lei for orders valued up to 99.99 lei, 7.5 lei for orders valued between 100 lei and 149.99 lei, via a fast courier.
- Nationwide: 15 lei for orders valued up to 99.99 lei, 7.5 lei for orders valued between 100 lei and 149.99 lei, via a fast courier.

By selecting the option of returnable packaging, you agree to add 1.9 lei to the normal shipping cost. See more details about returnable packaging here.
For deliveries outside the country, shipping costs are automatically calculated in the shopping cart based on the recipient country, weight, and product category. In this case, payment is only possible with a card online.
Returnable packaging
When you have books, planners, or notebooks in your shopping cart, check the 'Returnable Packaging' option. This way, you choose a more environmentally friendly packaging option made of recyclable polypropylene, which the courier will pick up from you and return to us for reuse. The cost is 1.9 lei anywhere in the country, independent of other shipping costs.

Orders with returnable packaging will be exclusively delivered by DPD or Sinapseria.
Payment options
Online card payment
After completing your purchase, you can choose to pay online with your card, enter your card details and you
will be redirected to the page/platform of the payment processor we work with.
If the payment is not confirmed, you will receive a new link for payment, automatically. If the payment
remains unconfirmed within 12 hours, the order will be marked as cancelled.
Cash on delivery
If you choose to pay cash, you will hand over the amount due, in cash, to the courier who delivers your package. We remind you that the payment amount is mentioned in the invoice received on the registered email address.
Payment by OP(Bank Transfer)
You can choose to pay by bank transfer, based on the order confirmation email.
CAREFUL!In order for us to be able to process and deliver the order you made on
carturesti.ro, it is necessary for you to send us proof of the bank transfer by e-mail, to the address
ecomenzi@carturesti.info, and also the amount must be visible in our account. The package will be shipped
only after meeting the two conditions.
Payment with cultural card or gift card
You can choose to pay with Sodexo, UP and Edenred cultural or gift cards when you order from carturesti.ro. All you have to do is choose your favorite products, add them to the basket, and when you complete the order, choose online payment with your card (cultural or gift) and enter your cultural card data.
