One of the most influential and enduring albums to emerge from the UK punk / post-punk scene were The Slits. Fiercely feminist, ecologically conscious, and musically adventurous the all-female trio’s sound combined dub reggae, angular guitars, unconventional time signatures, percussive rhythms and expressive vocal stylings to create something unique and startling. Their debut album for Island Records, ‘Cut’, still shines today, and it includes classics of the post-punk era including ‘Shoplifting, ‘Typical Girls’, ‘FM’, and ‘Love Und Romance’. For this special National Albums Day release, ‘Cut’ is pressed includes the bonus single ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ and is pressed on limited edition solid orange vinyl.
