In 1970 the Beethovenfest took place in Bonn: they celebrated the 200th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Viennese pianist Friedrich Gulda also played at this festival. A little eccentric, a little overloaded - that's how he is at home in the world of classical music, but also in that of jazz. Not surprisingly, he chose Beethoven's "Hammer Sonata", since Beethoven is one of his greatest inspirations.
