Accompanying the unprecedented site-specific exhibition by British artist Antony Gormley, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades, on the Greek archaeological island of Delos and in its Museum, this publication provides detailed insight into the exhibition and the exhibited works.

Extensive photographic documentation of the sculptures installed on Delos, including four new specially-commissioned artworks, highlights the unique nature of the exhibition, the first time a contemporary artist has taken over the island, and the dialogue between Gormley’s works and the statuary, temples, squares, vistas and the topography of Delos.

Central to the publication is a thorough conversation between Gormley and the curators of the exhibition, Iwona Blazwick OBE, Director of Whitechapel Gallery and Elina Kountouri, Director of NEON, providing essential understanding of Gormley’s vision for the exhibition, and concept behind the selection of the various works included.

A text by Fanis Kafantaris, the architect behind the design of the exhibition, allows a rare look into the intricate installation process of this important exhibition.
