      Publisher's Synopsis

Filmul nu are subtitrare in limba romana. / This movie does not have Romanian subtitles.

" Depardieu delivers a riveting performance " - New York Times

The fifth collaboration between Gérard Depardieu and writer-director Bertrand Blier (after Les Valseuses, Préparez vos mouchoirs, Buffet Froid and Tenue de soirée) won the Grand Prix at Cannes and five Césars (French Oscars), including Best Film, Screenplay, Director and Actress. As so often with Blier, the film wittily inverts a classic romantic scenario, in this case a love triangle involving a successful businessman (Depardieu), his wife and his secretary. As one might expect, one of them is dowdy and middle-aged, the other a stunning beauty but the twist is that he s already married to the latter (César-winning Carole Bouquet), while his fling is with the much plainer Colette (Josiane Balasko). Why? An unexpected encounter with the music of Schubert convinces him that some things are just too ravishing for mere mortals like himself and in any case Colette understands him in ways that he himself has yet to fully grasp.
