Being the Tindersticks third album, 'Curtains' is the most praised by fans. Seductive sound, luscious songwriting, smooth singing are just a few impressions from several media. Isabella Rossellini makes an appearance and sings a duet with Stuart Staples, which was a welcome surprise for the steadily growing fanbase at the time. The Tindersticks stayed away from the standards of the Britpop/rock scene and have become a band that is not easily boxed into a category. After producing two albums that were seriously dark and string-drenched, they managed to produce a slightly lighter sound filled with a subtlety preserving their beloved dark side and managed to include humor, melancholy and intimacy. This album has more depth than the previous two. Together with the bonus CD, featuring several alternative versions, instrumentals and b-side's makes this re-release complete.
