Vezi mai multeLive In Gdansk is a breathtaking live album by Pink Floyd singer / guitarist David Gilmour. It is Gilmour's first solo live album, and captures the magic of his 50,000-man concert in the Gdansk Shipyard in a particularly good way. The performance was the last concert of the 'On An Island Tour' he did in 2006, and includes Pink Floyd classics recorded live with an orchestra for the first time ever and a 25-minute version of Echoes.
David Gilmour says the following about the concert in Gdansk:
“This was the first time I have played in Poland and it was a thrill to be there helping to mark one of the most important anniversaries in recent European history. The Gdansk shipyard is a deeply symbolic place and it was an honor to perform our music in such a historic space. It was particularly exciting to have my friend Zbigniew Preisner there conducting the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and to be able to perform my album for the first time as it was intended ”
The album is produced by David Gimour and Phil Manzanera and features a musician and his band playing at the peak of their musical qualities. Live in Gdansk includes Pink Floyd classics like Echoes, High Hopes, Comfortably Numb, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, and Wish You Were Here.
