Michael Nyman has become famous for his music for the movie "The Piano". He is one of the great contemporary composers. As part of the theme of the Handel year 2009, Michael Nyman celebrated the German premiere of his latest composition "The Musicologist Scores" in Handels hometown Halle. In addition, many of Nyman's works are performed.
